I've been meaning to post one of these things forever, I have been lurking somewhat but then some people said some things and I realised it's been quite a long time... At least I've still posted more recently than spiralx. ;)

No missed turns, but I sure do miss having an extra chainring.

I found a mapping Web site for Munich which provides full directions from and to any point in the city and realised that my office is a lot closer to home than I thought.

The last time I used two wheels for transportation without the assistance of at least 700cc of quality engineering was some 25 years ago.

There's no way in hell I was going to try it on a work day without confirming the route ahead of time.

I've wanted a road bike for a while, so when the paycheck arrived today, I bought one. Pic inside.

I was biking from one class to another today. I had to stop at a stop sign, 'cause there were cars.

Problem 1: Brakes don't work. Solution: Turn (onto grass, not road) and stop with your feet. Having a freewheel which works dubiously at best may also help with the stopping. Come to a complete stop, which brings us to,

Problem 2: The handlebar stem detaches and falls off the bike. Solution: Jump clear, look around, wonder what's wrong with the people around you that they're not pointing and laughing at you, and come to the conclusion that maybe you need a new bike. (Then loosely put it back, carefully bike home to your sweet, sweet adjustable wrench and fix it.)

I skipped it. Well, most of it anyway.

This is one of those days when I really want to look for another job. Civility is dead. Here are redacted highlights of three bug reports received today:

I'm reading Tono-Bungay by HG Wells and even though he's one of my favorite authors, I'm having trouble getting into this one.
